dull starts and stops at first…
i call on maya angelou’s miss calypso
to give the newly formed ideas a pulse and a rhythm…suddenly everything i need is all within my reach and the heat don’t bother me none, dropping the doubts and letting it happen…
Were those gunshots?
sometimes i can never tell, to busy burning my fingers with hot glue…
finally tuning out distractions and
discovering that it all came together on its own once i let go…
preparation
beachfront tragedy
gearing up for the wall mountables show at DCAC
thinking of all the ways to fill a 2×2 square…
finishing catch 22…i didn’t see myself enjoying
a book about war but it has won me over.
it kind of reminds me of catcher in the rye with
this character at odds with the world.
but where Holden came across as a spoiled brat,
Yossarian’s attitude makes sense in the context of war…and i love the scene where all the soldiers hang at the beach, still finding a way to relax despite the constant danger…which suddenly appears in the form of a fellow soldier buzzing the beachgoers in his plane whose propeller slices one of his comrades in half, the beach erupting in chaos…
now it’s just about time to start harry potter…
need some more magic in my life…although i got a healthy dose of it last night re-watching baz lurhman’s romeo & juliet…i am in constant awe of catherine martin’s set designs…the run-down beachfront town where romeo & friends hang has a great apocalyptic feel to it…
