summer is already making itself known.
i got the season started with some hottubbin‘
lightning flickered above, storm setting in..
caution drove us from the water…
heading home a fox dashed across my path,
darting sleek n’ low across traffic lanes…
i’ve always considered them as good omens
joining the city paper softball team has
made my summer’s saturdays more active
and my sundays much more achy and sore..
this saturday’s game was comically dangerous
when i tried my hand at classic slapstick,
stepping on a rake someone left lying in the grass
it went just like in the cartoons, with more blood…
but i still went out and played two games
deciding against stitches & sporting a nice black eye
bring it on summer!
