my fingers dirty with pastels…
an inch of ash clings to my forgotten cigarette.
it has been awhile since the figure has appeared in my work
aside from sketchbook fantasies…
i established 3 guidelines for these pieces,
they each must have:
1. an element of struggle
2. an element of metamorphosis
3. an element of blossoming
we shall see
