how can i possibly go to sleep
when the night sky, swelling with soft light
cracks open, leaking liquid orange pink fire…
clouds caught up in the swirling day-break drama
setting the stage for the sun’s big debut…
i retreat beneath cool pillow before sun scorch sets in
