went to the cherry blossoms for their annual inspiration
i’ve been very fake flower focused in my latest work
so i needed to go and immerse myself in the real thing
silk flowers serve as stand-ins in the absence of florality
but they are ready to soldier on if flowers should fall
fiercely imitating nature and also exposing its absence
all of this explored in my newest freestanding sculpture
“last stand” debuting friday night at the Warehouse
as part of the exhibit “The End of Nature“
